STAN MAYFIELD QUALIFIES FOR INDIAN RIVER COUNTY TAX COLLECTOR

Stan Mayfield announced today that his campaign has qualified for Indian River Tax Collector

Vero Beach, FL — June 19, 2008 — Stan Mayfield qualified today for the Indian River Tax Collector seat being vacated by Charlie Sembler. For the past eight years Stan Mayfield has served as the District 80 representative in the State House.

Mayfield said today, “Over the past 20 years, Indian River County has given my family so much. It’s an honor and privilege to have the opportunity to run for the county’s tax collector and to follow in the model of Charlie Sembler. Throughout my years of public service, I’ve always fought to keep your tax dollars low and to ensure government spending is in check. I hope to use my experience as the Florida House of Representative’s budget appropriations chair, tax-cut activist and entrepreneur to keep our county’s economy strong by keeping money in your pockets. ”

Mr. Mayfield’s campaign will address the tough issues, such as balancing the budget, fighting to lower property taxes, addressing equity issues in taxation across the board and making sure that every dollar spent is used wisely.

“It is due to my concern over the important issues and the financial management of our tax resources that I have decided to offer my name to the residents of Indian River as a candidate for tax collector,” said Mayfield. “I have gained the insight and experience as a businessman, school board member and state legislator that are necessary to manage our county taxes. I believe I have the energy, record of experience and commitment to serve our community effectively and hope to earn your support.”

Stan Mayfield is a Republican candidate for Indian River County Tax Collector. He lives in Vero Beach with his wife Debbie Mayfield and they have three sons.
